The presence of oxygen in a food packaging process decreases the shelf life as an oxygen-rich environment promotes bacterial growth. In the packaging process our food producer flushes each container with carbon dioxide to carefully remove all oxygen. Our Reserve Paks are packaged in #10 cans and our Quick Fix Meals are packaged Mylar pouches which are also designed to be impervious to sunlight. By removing sunlight, moisture and oxygen from the picture, our meals can be stored in a cool, dry location and retain their flavor and quality for up to 25 years.
